PROGRAM AT A GLANCE

The participants to this course will have many opportunities to perform and learn from great teachers.  They will have master classes, lectures and  workshops dedicated to the different countries and songs.  They will also have Alexander Technique sessions and private coachings.

Once the participant have register we will send him or her the repertory that she or he has to prepare for the course.  Each participant will have to prepare minimum 6 art songs from the Spanish or Latin American repertoire.  Singers should arrive in Barcelona prepared with art songs and romanzas they wish to perfect.

Each of the participants at the Festival will have his/her own personalized development program, designed around his/her unique abilities, level of development & goals.  The goal is to reinforce their strengths and to identify and overcome their weaknesses.

In 2008 the Festival will take place at the Ateneu Barcelonès, a grand edifice that houses perhaps the largest cultural resource in Catalonia, with the richest selection of programs for the public. The center sponsors political debates of local and national politicians, book readings, film screenings, art shows, concerts, and more. L'Ateneu is located inside El Palau Savassona, the old residence of Josep Francesc Ferrer de Llupià Brossa, a former Baron of Savassona. This wonderful building, is an equally-dignified neoclassical contrast to the famous Gaudi-inspired architecture that dominates much of modern Barcelona.
